Oops

Umm, I forgot the camera this week. So, no pictures, but two items I will immortalize in the future, if the animals in question return to the market:
A beautiful greyhound wearing a fake pearl necklace
A noble grey cat named Nero riding in his own covered stroller
It was hot, hot, hot so I think most people with dogs stayed away from the heat. Business was still spirited.
So, no pics - sorry. It'll be in the '90s all week here, but wherever you are, stay cool! (I am almost looking forward to winter at this point - bite my tongue!)

Relax!

(I couldn't resist giving this week's blog this title, in honor of this lovely, relaxed child.)

So, it was a good Sunday, although I felt kind of spacey all day. But I have here a shot of what it looks like in the early AM as we set up - cooler temps and this is when dealers check out each other's stuff or when early AM shoppers stop by.

I also want to point out some new neighbors, Mandy and Dave and their totally great dog collars, etc., booth, Knine Couture. Super sweet and their dog, Link, is a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e. And famous in Japan! (Star of a Pedigree campaign there.) Here's their website: http://www.kninecouture.com/
(I like their sign...)

Here's some produce and flowers pics - glorious bounty of the summer!

Great fashion today, too: I'm a sucker for paisley and this woman wore it well. Also, a dyn-o-mite ensemble...

Look at these great colors in this booth! Such happy art!

And this guy, Paul, was travelling through town, up from Tucson, selling his patches of sewn art, "Sewing Machine Designs." Great stuff, very clever, but what blew us away was his SOLAR-powered sewing machine!!! If you go to his website, he has more info about how to set that up, and see his art: http://www.pnosa.com/

It was a very colorful day: here are some shots of still lifes, live music, and of course, dogs...hope you enjoy!

Dogs sniffin'...

Dogs walkin'...
Dogs standin'..

Kid walkin' (great t-shirt!)...
Some big dogs - cute!

I love these two girls, a basset and a dachshund, living together in harmony...

And the winner of cutest dog of the day is...taa daa!!!

Hasta la vista,

Lacey Days of Summer

Hi - Although we had a good time at Lacey, had some car problems and it's an hour and a half from Seattle, so it was a looong day. Got some great stuff, met some nice people - but there really weren't any dogs! And then Sunday, not so great day, just tired and the booth next to us was causing stress so I was too busy for pics, and it was windy. So sorry, fans of my blog, not much to report today. Here's a pic of Lacey to give you a sense of what it was like - nice cold shade, plenty of soft green cold grass, and best of all - space!

A bientot,
Nordy

Oh, P.S. We're not going up there this year (too little time, money, logistics) but next year we will go to the Anacortes Shipwreck Days Garage Sale - it looks like the local version of Brimfield - dang! It would have been fun... http://www.anacortes.org/
And if you scroll a little further, you'll see a pic of me and mine, not the best pic of me (a great one of mine) but I've had a special request...

Amazing!

Look closely at this card - there is an actual bee in the center! He thinks it's real!

Anyway, it was a sloooow day - I think people were out late on the Fourth and stayed in, which is too bad, because it was a beautiful (but hot) day and there were some new vendors today. So hung out, laughed a lot, saw some cool fashion, and a couple dogs - as always, so cute and I make a fool of myself over them...

Love the two dresses ensembles, and the fashionable summer knickers!!

And lastly, a lovely family...

Back to Lacey this week, and Fremont as usual!

Hey, Baby, It's the Fourth of July

Early morning on the Seattle to Bremerton ferry, and it's the Fourth of July! The city was so quiet and there were only 11 cars on the ferry. It was a very sweet morning, and an hour ride full of beautiful land- and sea-scapes, birds, fresh air and cool breezes. Perfect weather!

We spent the day as part of an "Old-Time Fourth Fest," on a quaint street in downtown Bremerton. There were some cool people and good musicians playing, like this mandolin player:

But as it got hotter, it seemed things were a little surreal:

And then, two hours of "Little Elvis" - I "kid" you not:

And there were some dogs, but since it was more like "dog days," they looked a little bedraggled. I didn't take any dog pics, except this boy waiting for his mom - um, not your typical face painting:

A "small town" scene, and nice to see some cats, for a change!

Then it was back home and get ready for Sunday!

Hasta pronto,
Nordy

Waiting

Some dogs are so patient, happy to wait while the world walks by. Or they do the walking - this past Sunday's blog has a little of both. Sitting, walking, and one adamant I'm-not-going-anywhere Boston Terrier. Why not take a load off? It's the end of June, it's perfect weather, and there's a million things going on in Seattle, especially that weekend. Very mellow day...

This dog had the prettiest white pattable back, very soft...
Carry me!!

The only dalmatian I've seen here in a long time...very sweet.
In fact, lots of black and/or white dogs this time...

And some babies!!! I mean, puppies...

Here's that Boston Terrier I mentioned earlier - she just plopped down and took a break...

And of course, finally, two dachshunds, so cute (however, the last one had the cojones of a big dog - you can kind of see in the pic...) Disconcerting!

Next weekend - two markets!
Hasta la proxima,
Nordy
